“This is what I call a hotel of SMILES”

This hotel is what it is all about and every good hotel around the world should send its staff to the Palacio Hotel to be trained in how to treat a customer and always have a smile nothing is too much trouble here and it is always with a smile and it made our stay one of the most enjoyable ever and we have been around the world.

The staff seem to enjoy the customer coming to their hotel from the maids to bellman to management and the doormen just everyone goes that extra mile and enjoy doing.
The owner of the hotel must be very proud as are all the people that work at the Palacio.
Breakfast is very good as is the service and the walk down the corridor were you will see all the photos of the royalty and famous people and we did feel like royalty ourselves throughout our stay.
Lunch in the garden room was great also served with a smile.
Hence the title HOTEL of SMILES.
When you go, book the hotel car to collect you from the airport very nice man and speaks good English arrive in style.
Thanks again to all the staff we will return one day soon but will make our stay longer.

Opulence and service

This hotel is a reminder of the stylish way to stay! From the traditional doorman in grey uniform, red cape and white gloves, the bell boy in traditional suit to the reception staff in waistcoats and tails, it smacks of class. Our room was very clean, well serviced by the maids (who looked like nurses) and very comfortable. Breakfast was great, a buffet with all you could want available. The only small downside in the breakfast room was the coffee which was very strong, but you may like that. There is a nice spa area with a very interesting indoor pool. All in all a great experience.

This hotel is a class act

Very lovely welcome, very lovely stay ! So much enjoyed the calm surroundings, the discreet but very professional staff. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean and very tasteful. Room service was perfect.... actually all the service in all areas was perfect. A marvelous consièrge, who was truly one of the best in his art. This hotel understands true class. Not ostentatious, but put purely good taste and perfect hospitality.Very lovely welcome, very lovely stay ! So much enjoyed the calm surroundings, the discreet but very professional staff

Be warned: once you enjoyed the outstanding hospitality at HP you might be addicted and return very often

"The Four Seasons Grill is a traditional grill restaurant which serves delicious food (not only to HP guests)

They offer very interesting menus, which are not cheap but worth the money spent (for example: "mise en bouche" = topinambur soup with cherry sorbet, starter= avocado cannelloni with crab meat, main dish= filet mignon/beef with foie gras sauce, to finish cheese or desert .... white/red wine, water and coffee inclusive for 43 Euros pp)

The Banyan Tree Spa is great and you can book all kind of treatments(liked the Thai classic).

The traditional golf course of Estoril belongs to HP and is a pleasure to play, not very long, but be aware of trees and tricky greens.

Be warned: once you enjoyed the outstanding hospitality at HP you might be addicted and return very often! "

“If you want to be treated like royalty this is the place to stay”

"I stayed here for a week with my husband and another couple the place is absolutely out of this world it's peaceful it's quiet it is elegant and worth every penny that we spent. We stayed in a standard double bedroom beautifully decorated spotlessly clean, more than adequate for what we needed for this particular trip. Bed linen and towels are changed every single day. The staff from housekeeping,cleaners,waiting staff & bar staff are exceptional, a special mention however must be made to Jose one of the doorman thank you for all your help. All the staff make everybody feel very very special, nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed in some wonderful hotels around the world however I have never stayed anywhere that has made me so relaxed in such a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast in the morning is wonderful with every type of ham cheese bread yoghurt & fruit you could possibly need you also have a choice every day of cooked hot food, I also enjoyed my Bucks fizz every morning. The pool area also kept in immaculate condition sun loungers and towels are provided and waiting staff are on hand to take your orders food and drink. I WILL BE GOING BACK" !

“One of the best hotels in Europe”

This was our 2nd visit to the Palacio, but for longer this time as we enjoyed it so much the first. This is a genuine 5 Star hotel, with superb staff and management. Breakfast is superb, the staff are happy caring and friendly, the doorman has been the doorman at this hotel since 1951 and is one of the world's longest serving hotel employee's. The decor and public rooms are grand but the hotel never feels large and sprawling. The Spa is one of the best we have been too and is attached to the hotel, brand new within the last few years. The pool is superb and is a newly refurbished overflow pool. My only criticism from last year was slow internet service and patchy coverage around the hotel, this has now been fixed and is great now covering the entire hotel and pool area. We will come back next year for longer!
